Recover failed payments

Sound familiar?
“A customer's autopay failed and I didn't notice until they'd gone a month without paying.”

What you'll need

  • Your business profile. Don't have one? Start here →
  • Your payment tool (Stripe, Square, PayPal, QuickBooks Payments, GoCardless), connected or as a failed-payments export
  • The inbox (and text service, if you have one) you message customers from
  • Your membership or service agreement

What you'll get

  • A Monday list of failed card and bank payments, split into "your tool will retry this" and "this needs you"
  • Friendly emails and texts with your processor's secure update link, ready for you to approve
  • A call list for your biggest and longest-standing customers
  • A recovery scoreboard with a clear "pause now" list and the cards expiring next month

How it works

Every Monday it pulls your failed and past-due card and bank payments, drops the ones already fixed, and sorts the rest by why they failed. Some clear on your tool's own retries; expired or blocked cards, closed accounts and cancelled authorizations need the customer, so it drafts a friendly note with a secure link (never asking for card or bank numbers), escalating over three touches to a clear date, and tells you when your own pause rule kicks in. Nothing goes out and nothing is charged or paused until you approve it.
